Tax Cuts

Under National I'll be half a tinny better off a week.

Amazingly, Don Brash seems to appreciate this:
It signals to hard-working New Zealanders that you too can share in the benefits of a growing economy,” says Dr Brash.

But to keep things in perspective, by 2007, this guy would be about 12 grams better off a year.

Comments:
If you earn 30,000 a year (and presumably work hard to earn that) you will score an extra 500 bucks a year (which you will probably blow on increased fees elsewhere.

If you earn 60,000 you get back 2,400.

Oh isn't it nice for National to draw such a shocking distinction between who 'deserves' and 'needs' tax cuts like that.

On Morning Report this morning they had Chris Trotter on with some other guy talking about the National and Labour functions in Auckland? over the weekend.

They observed that Nationals audience was middle class and white.

While Labours actually resembled New Zealand.

Yes, further analysis...

If you earn $35,000 a year under a National government you will get a whopping $12 extra a week.

Well putting up with a National government would probably mean i would need to drink and extra dozen beers a week to survive, so that would go a way to paying for that.

Fortunately it ain't going to happen.

When you give people on $100,000 plus $4,500 more a year and your average NZer $500-$1,000 extra a year alarm bells should start ringing about who National represents. As if we didn't know already.
