Ahoy-hoy
Couldn't agree more about the NRL needing a little revitalization. But try being an NHL fan and going through 82 regular season games per team (plus All-Star weekend) before 16 of the 30 teams are deemed worthy of going through to the play-offs (with each match up being a best-of-7 games affair). So there are up to 56 games in the first round, 28 in the second, 14 in the third, and then 7 for Lord Stanley's Cup itself, meaning up to 105 games in total. The teams in the final round could play up to 110 games each in a season. And then they have a few months off to play golf. BTW, there are 4 teams left in the comp, and only one of them is Canadian - the Calgary Flames. I guess they will have my half-hearted support.
