More advice to NZ Cricket

Playing tests in late March is always going to be tenuous. To increase your chances of bowling 90 overs per day, you need to be able to start a lot earlier than 10.30 AM (due to the probability of bad light some time after 3 PM). If it's bright and dry at 9.00 AM you should start then and make runs while the sun shines.

Comments:
I wonder if we could start looking at artificial fields for rugby, league and cricket. That way the second it stops raining for cricket they could be out on the field. The water can't soak in it just runs straight off provided you have it slightly elevated in the centre.

There are plenty of artificial fields in the NFL and they have players crashing to the ground all the time without injuring themselves too much.

All you need is tights the length of your body to avoid a rash(there's a horrible thought, a rugby prop in full body lycra)

Without wanting to add to the lengthy list of half-finished stadia throughout the country, it would be great to have a couple with rooves. One day cricket, in particular, could be played indoors (whereas weather conditions can be seen as part of the game for Tests). If they were permanent rooves you would, of course, need artifical fields too.

Or they could just schedule cricket in bloody summer I guess!
